Interviewee: Aaron Haffner

Interviewer: How is your personal life affected by your work?
Haffner: As my workload increases, my personal life decreases, which is showing inverse relationship.
Interviewer: Oh...alright then

Interviewer: Why did you choose to work in the education field?
Haffner: I like to work with people who consider themselves as children, especially as they're emerging into adolescence. You also hold my future, so you're going to be voting for my welfare, which means you better be educated.
Interviewer: Oh my gosh.
Haffner: Plus, it's also a lot of fun to work with students over adults because they don't act like adults.
Interviewer: So, we act our age?
Haffner: Yep.

Interviewer: Where did you grow up?
Haffner: Um Pacifica and Montara.
Student: You went to Terra Nova?
Haffner: I did... Tigers!

Interviewer: Where did you graduate from college?
Haffner: I graduated from UC Santa Cruz.

Interviewer: What trends have you seen over your years at El Camino?
Haffner: I've only been here two years...

Interviewer: What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies or interests?
Haffner: Um...I play video games. I also go mountain biking, well used to, but my bike broke. I like to go bouldering, which is indoor rock climbing.
Interviewer: Oh, I thought you meant you like pushing boulders around.
Haffner: I am trying to get better at playing music. I don't play very well anymore...I grade papers!

Interviewer: What have you learned from your students?
Haffner: I've learned that expectations usually fail and students will surprise you with how passionate they are. I also forgot how funny high school drama is, you guys are hilarious.
Interviewer: Thanks...

Interviewer: What do you like best working at El Camino?
Haffner: I like the students the best!
Interviewer: How do you deal with difficult students?
Haffner: I give them a choice. Either listen to the class rules or I call the office.
Interviewer: Dun, dun, dun......
