Interviewer: Heather Oakes
Interviewee: Michael Wang-Belt

Interviewer: Where did you grow up?
Wang-Belt: I grew up in a little place called Prunedale, California. Went to school and never moved, so I'm a rarity. Most people usually moved during their childhood, but I never did.

Interviewer: Why did you choose to work in the education field?
Wang-Belt: I wanted to give back to the future. It was interesting going to college and seeing how little my high school prepared me, so I thought might as well gear them up with some knowledge that I had.

Interviewer: What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies or interests?
Wang-Belt: I haven't done it in a while, but I randomly try to build lamps. So, I try to get some random pieces of wood together and make some lamps out of that.

Interviewer: What do you like best, working at El Camino?
Wang-Belt: Really? As cheesy as it sounds, students.

Interviewer: What have you learned from your students?
Wang-Belt: They try to teach me these things like dabbing and like some other stuff uhh, but they keep me current with what's going on and also keep it real. They're also understanding and that's a fantastic thing to have in a student body and I really appreciate that they're honest and truthful. We all have our ups and downs, but they can understand and respect that so I really appreciate the student body.
